Is Heaven our default destination??

As Easter approaches, I ponder more on the sacrifice Jesus made for me, and for everyone. I was reading a book, and it mentioned Heaven being our default destination. For every 1 American who believes he is going to Hell, there are 120 who believe they are going to Heaven. Matthew 7:13-14 says, "Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. " What keeps us out of Heaven is universal. Romans 3:23- "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Because we are sinners, we are not entitled to enter God's presence. In fact, we cannot enter Heaven as we are. Unless our sin problem is resolved, the only place we will go is our true default destination..... Hell. Almost all funerals paint the picture that the person is in Heaven, but we know that is not the case. Not everyone who lives on the earth, has had their sin issue resolved. Some refuse, but some have never been told.
The reality of Hell should break our hearts, and take us to our knees and to the doors of those without Christ. It pains me to know, I have friends, whom I have never shared Christ with. If you are reading this now, and are not 100% positive where you will spend eternity, please e-mail me or call me or message me. We dare not "wait and see" when it comes to what's on the other side of death. We shouldn't just cross our fingers and hope that we "make it" to Heaven. We can know, and should know, before we die. And, because we may die at any time, we need to know now- not next month or next year. "Why do you not even know what will happen tomorrow, What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes" James 4:14 "NOW is the day of salvation"- 2 Corinthians 6:2, "Choose this day whom you will serve" Jeremiah 24:15 This picture is a representation that a choice has to be made, however, it is a little deceiving. We cannot make the choice once we have died. The choice has to be made while we are on this earth.

Throughout the ages, countless people have been too busy to respond to Christ's invitation . Many assume the good they have done, perhaps attending church, being baptized, singing in choir, or helping in the soup kitchen, will be enough to gain entry into Heaven. But, people who do not respond to Christ's invitation, will be
cast outside of Heaven, into Hell, forever. On that day, no excuse or explanation will matter. People who go to Florida don't simply get in a car and start driving on any road, hoping it will eventually get them there. Instead, they look at the map, and get on the road that will for sure get them there. Even though we are under God's wrath for our sin's, Jesus took that wrath onto Himself, and died as our substitute. Only when our sins are dealt with in Christ, can we enter Heaven. We CANNOT pay our own way. Right before Jesus died on the cross, he said, "It is finished". The Greek word translated, "it is finished" was commonly written across certificates of debt when they were canceled. It meant "paid in full". Christ died so that the certificate of debt, consisting of all our sins, (past present and future) could once and for all be marked, "Paid in Full". Once you ask Jesus to be your Savior ALL your sins are covered by the blood of Jesus. God sees you as forgiven by the blood, doesn't matter what the sin is.

You may think, "I don't deserve forgiveness". You are exactly right! No one deserves
forgiveness, if we deserved it, we wouldn't need it. That is the whole point of grace! Those who assume their religious activities alone will get them to Heaven have a terrible surprise ahead. Do not merely assume you are a Christian and are going to Heaven. Make the conscious decision to accept Christ's sacrificial death on your behalf. When you choose to accept Christ and surrender control of your life to Him, you can be CERTAIN that your destination will be Heaven.

1. Realize that every person (including yourself) has grossly broken every one of God's laws. You heart has deceived you into believing you are a good person. In fact, you are not even capable of being good enough to go to heaven because Gen 5:3 tells us that we are born after Seth, who was in the likeness of a fallen Adam. That is why Jesus is called the second Adam in the bible. The perfect Adam.

(Isaiah 64:6- All our righteousness are as filthy rags to God)

2. Realize that because of you sin against God, you are destined to go to Hell without hope of seeing heaven.

(The Soul that Sins it shall die!)

3. Realize that you cannot save yourself from this judgment.

(Galations 2:16, "...for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.")

4. Realize that Jesus is able to save you, for he has paid the penalty of sin by his death on the cross.

(John 3:14,15 - And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the son of man be lifted up: that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have eternal life." )

5. Repent (turn from your sin).

(Luke 13:3, "...except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.")

6. Call upon Jesus to forgive you of your sin and save your soul.

(Romans 10:13 - Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.)

If God us pricking your heart right now about your need to be born-again, just call out to Jesus and He will save you. Jesus has never turned one person away who responds to His prompting in their life.
If you read this today, and realized you weren't sure where you would spend eternity, and decided to ask God to forgive you and you gave your life to Him, please let me know. Send me an e-mail, so I can help you on this journey
